I worked for Genesis for a few years and experienced so many issues with this company as a guard and site supervisor. Their standards for hiring are incredibly low: I have had to deal with guards who didn't know how to use their radios, didn't speak English (COMMUNICATION is very important in this line of work), begin demanding to leave sites early, and I have had guards start crying. I have been sent on sites with improper information, false information, and at times NO information. They constantly put their guards in dangerous situations with zero preparation. For example: The welfare offices were high stress locations and the only thing guards were given to handle those situations were faulty walkie talkies. Just to give you some perspective DRESSEW (the store for arts and crafts) has a different security company who gets to wear a protective vest. While being threatened by people violently brandishing used needles Genesis guards get thin, nearly translucent, shirts. It's taken years for me to recover from the stress of working there and I realized too late how many opportunities I had to take them to court for endangering me.
