Pluspunten
- Overall, this is a great company. What it comes down to is it a fit for you. If you want to be a sales engineer at a top tier instrumentation rep firm where you will be paid well for your efforts than this is the place. - Owner cares and will take care of his outside sales force. - Collaborative outside team. "We" mentality instead of "me" mentality is very strong. It is almost like a brotherhood. - Direct line to owner who will listen. - Owner is fair and will listen. Ex. Incentive goals is a discussion instead of a decree. - Top tier rep firm who is respected among manufacturers. - Your opinion is heard when picking up new lines. - Owner has a good business acumen. Best example: How the company handled the COVID pandemic. - Pay is good. - Home every night. - Create your own schedule but that is also because you will be straight commission. - Company knows who they are/what they do and stays true to that idea. - Senior management checks in to make sure you are handling the stresses of commission selling well. They will do their best to help make sure you don't burn out.
Minpunten
- Because it is a small organization you have to be agile and understand the owner makes the final call. Even if it contradicts an earlier statement. - No room for growth above Sales Engineer. - You are everything, marketing, sales, proposal worker, technical support, etc. There is inside support but it will not be the same as a larger firm. - Will have to work long hours if you want to make money (typically at least 10/day or on weekends. Sometimes both). - Pittsburgh and WV territory is priority. The rest matter but are not weighted as heavy during decisions.
