Pluspunten
There are worse places to work than in the footwear industry. Lots of colleagues are fun, thoughtful, kind and brilliant.
Benefits are pretty good!
Minpunten
When they opened a Portland office, they started hiring en masse from Nike (don't blame them - low-hanging fruit). But the nike folks have zero interest in learning anything about hoka. They're catty - starting fights, sowing discontent, acting unprofessionally when they don't get their way. They're bratty - they throw actual, literal fits when they don't get their way or get any sort of feedback, and don't seem to grasp that people don't worship nike like they used to. (nike stock is down, both literally and figuratively). They cannot fathom that any of their ideas or ways of working aren't the best. They're aloof. They've fully succeeded in making this place feel awful - so I guess they've made it just like nike.
Whenever I hear the phrase "what got us here won't get us there" - a phrase I agree with, by the way - it's being said in defense of some recycled nike strategy deck. All you can do is laugh.
