Pluspunten
This is a fun atmosphere that provides abundant variety in duties as well as product. I loved the actual job which encompassed merchandising, buying, management, sales, marketing, and building rapport with customers. The hours are very reasonable for retail, and there is time management flexibility for managers. I enjoyed the entrepreneur aspect of this business! In addition, you are recycling product from one homeowner to another so it reduces environmental waste which I personally love, and you are able to work with some amazing people and furniture pieces!
Minpunten
The owners seem easy to work for at first glance, but it is difficult to know how to please them and succeed. They ask for feedback/suggestions, but if it doesn't agree with their viewpoint, it seems they hold it against you. The owners also have a reputation among employees and management of being unfair and stingy with praise and bonuses, and it is unclear how to hit the levels they ask you to hit due to variables (of which you have little to no control). Disclaimer: the corporate office is located in California, and I'm sure it is difficult to run 16 stores from off-site. I do believe they are doing their best, but there seems to be much room for improvement in communication and building trust between owners/managers and owners/employees.
