Top management includes some psychos. At the first corporate meeting that I have attended a crazy Ceo lady was yelling that someone has stolen her yogourt fronm the fridge. I had a feeling she was staring at me and implying it must be me, the new employee, who stole it. What a lovely topic to discuss at a corporate meeting! It so brings the company closer and focused on a common objective! A box of yogourt, worth about $5 is such a huge unrecoverable loss for the CEO, who makes more then $10 a minute. The topic was so worth it the time of about 200 employees, who were taken off their job duties for this meeting! Also management has no awareness that employees are humans. Some of them, for instance, have kids. I was not allowed to take an urgent call from my newly recruited nanny. At that point I realized that I won't be able to continue working for this company. Your kid gets suddenly sick? Tough luck! You absolutely can't take a sick day, a vacation day or be absent from work for any reason without giving a 2 weeks notice. ( I guess this policy makes a lot of sense, cause that way they can also give you a 2 weeks notice back in response). Need to use the washroom in the middle of the day? Tough luck. You can only be absent from your desk for half an hour at lunch and for exactly 15 minutes for two scheduled breaks. There are not many washrooms around, so if you seat pretty far from the washroom and wear heels instead of some runningvshoes it may take you more then 15 minutes to walk there and back. And save goodness you are late!
