Some of the staff are great people who band together to support each other in this very unpleasant working environment

Minpunten

Staff are regularly threatened with how disposable they are. If you don't give in to the increasingly ridiculous demands of the company, you are threatened with dismissal and told that you can instantly be replaced. They manipulate labour laws to get rid of anyone that asks questions or expresses dissatisfaction with how they're treated. The working environment is so toxic that the workforce has rapidly declined over the past year - up to 5 resignations in a single month was common. Job titles are essentially meaningless as staff are simply thrown from one department to the next without any true planning or change management. At times staff are even told to just pick their own job title because no one really knows what to call them. The salaries are slightly above the low-end (below the median average for the roles), but your starting salary is likely to be your ending salary as increases are generally only given to the UK staff, while the staff in South Africa work for the same salary for years on end despite the increases in the cost of living. If you ask for an increase after several years, you're given a list of criteria to fulfil before it will even be considered - then the goalpost is moved as soon as you complete the list. Many labour laws are simply ignored because the owner straddles two countries and picks and chooses which laws he's willing to abide by. Pregnant women are treated particularly badly and more than one has ended up in the hospital with complications arising from the stress of how they're treated. Maternity leave and maternity pay are serious issues in this company as it tries to wiggle out of proper accommodations in this regard. Annual leave is also a persistent issue. Many promises are made about promotions, career advancement, salary increases, working conditions, improved operations, personal development, etc. - but none of these are kept. Initially, it was a good company to work for but this changed roughly two years ago and the staff turnover since that time is a clear reflection of the degradation of company ethics and practices. There is now a feeling amongst most staff that the only way to retain your job is to be bad at it, be a man, and commit fraud. It is not only the staff who are subjected to unethical behaviour, as this also extends to the customers of the business. False promises, hidden clauses, unfounded guarantees, and intentionally misleading sales pitches are very common in the dealings with customers. Staff have even been forced to write fake TrustPilot reviews to mitigate the damage done by legitimate reviews. Fraud was committed when the company created a fake recruitment company to use people's desperation for employment to convince them to buy training courses from the real company, with the false belief that the recruitment company had job offers from its own imaginary clients. Some of the job guarantees are partially true now, but the full details of these are usually withheld during the sales pitches. This truly is a highly toxic working environment and I would strongly suggest that it be avoided.

A toxic review from a toxic ex-employee. Unfortunately, Glassdoor's policy seems to allow for any person to make slanderous allegations against a company without checking any facts with the employer. They refuse to confirm the individuals details so that we may then legally pursue them through a court of law and instead we have to sue Glassdoor directly for allowing unfounded slanderous allegations to be made public without establishing any truth in any allegation. In fact, we have now asked several members of staff to leave reviews which they have, and Glassdoor made no checks on any of these to confirm they really were staff members! Not sure how you can really take a GlassDoor review seriously with this approach and we say this having had our own staff leave some fantastic reviews. Therefore, we can only respond to this review by guessing at the identity of the individual based on the information above. This means we cannot create a legal case against them or make any claim for damages from a false claim. However, since we only had one individual in South Africa who caused many problems, we can be sure we know who this individual is. This individual worked as a remote contractor for the company for a few years and her contract ended 2 years ago as the project, she worked on ended. It was decided by the owner of the company to offer her a similar role working for the company based within the office rather than release her into a South African job market with unemployment rates running at 50%+. Unfortunately, it soon became clear why this individual had been working alone and remotely. She failed to try to bond with anybody within the organisation and instead chose to be constantly disruptive to other members of the company and failed to comply with any of the company needs, insisting that everything was on her terms without any consideration for her colleagues or the profitability of the company. During a restructure of the South African office her position and role was eventually outsourced, and she was made redundant. She then decided to take the company to a tribunal in South Africa, which she lost. This review is a vindictive attempt to gain some personal revenge on a company who did their best to help her, despite her own personal issues and demons. Accusations, regarding pregnant women relate to her stepsister who worked for us as well and we have documentary evidence from her stating how thankful she was for our support. In fact, her inability to build relationships with people even extended to her stepsister for a while as she refused to give her a lift to work. Her accusations above are defamatory and slanderous and totally uncalled for. We do not normally respond to reviews in such a personal manner but due to the inability of Glassdoor to police slanderous reviews we have been forced to defend our self publicly here. There are so many false allegations in the above review that we will not cover any more and will be pursuing this legally through GlassDoor.

Pluspunten

1. Having been with ITonlinelearning for about two years, I can confidently say that the team here feels like family. During a challenging personal period, the support and understanding from my colleagues and management made me feel welcomed and valued. 2. We get along well, and the workplace culture fosters genuine camaraderie. 3. The management team is not only supportive in terms of daily work but also encourages personal and professional development. They actively support employees who wish to pursue further studies, providing the necessary encouragement and resources to succeed.

Minpunten

While the overall experience has been positive, I believe management could enhance communication by conducting regular check-ins or interviews with staff. This would help ensure everyone understands their roles clearly and is aligned with business objectives.

Pluspunten

1. Great work atmosphere - Staff are friendly and most of the time they try to help one another. This is especially good for newcomers where entering a new work environment can be a bit of a scare. 2. Competitive salary - Hard work does not go unnoticed. If you work hard, you will be rewarded. If you excel at your job role, you may find yourself being offered a new role with a decent salary increase. Great to see as not every company acknowledges the hard work of its employees. 3. Managers are understanding - This is one of the most important factors (in my opinion). If you're unsure about something, you can always ask them for advice. They encourage you to learn from your experiences so that you can apply this in your day to day. If you have a personal issue, they welcome you to speak to them to see what the best solution would be. 4. Staff growth - depending on your position and how long you've been working there, the company tends to help upskill their staff by allowing them to study towards certain international qualifications. This could see you moving up the ladder and into a higher role. 5. Workday start/end time - This one is subjective. Depending on the office and department you work in, you could either work your typical 8-5 or a more unorthodox 10-7. I say it's subjective because this can either be a pro or a con depending on your lifestyle but you are informed of your work hours in the interview.

Minpunten

1. No 13th cheque - In December, you will not receive double salary but you could receive a bonus. I'm only placing this under the Cons section because I got used to receiving a double salary in December at my previous workplaces. 2. No medical aid and no pension - Just as the title says. Very disappointing but it is what it is.
