Pluspunten

The reviews on here are very skewed, most bad ones are by disgruntled employees who couldn't hack it, and most good ones are ones that management asked interns to write (you can tell by the generic and contrived language). Here is an unbiased review of Indeed: I worked at Indeed for about 2 1/2 years in the San Mateo office and recently decided to leave when my maternity leave was up (probably outing myself here). I left not because I was unhappy, quite the opposite. But I crunched the numbers of what I would be making coming back and having to build business again verses what I would need to support my new family, and it just didn't add up. I also felt stuck professionally since I had stopped believing that I would ever be able to move up at Indeed, no matter how well I did (and I did pretty well). I would have gladly taken on more responsibility if they had given me the chance. Most of the bad reviews on here I would have agreed with a year ago, BUT management has made a big effort to improve employee morale once they found out how unhappy a lot of people were. Outings and team building events are big here and I think management tries to nip most morale issues in the bud before they get bad. A big Pro here is that they do hire fantastic people to work with. My former team especially seemed to gel, and I loved coming to work mostly because I enjoyed being around them. My direct manager had a knack for hiring awesome people, and he was also honest with me about what I needed to improve on and what I did well. I also credit the senior manager for really turning the San Mateo office around, he made it his personal mission to whip the office into shape and I think he succeeded. Another Pro is that Indeed does have a great product that works. It's something that you can feel good about selling because it has value to HR professionals and most that try it are happy they did. Most people leave Indeed at the year mark, but if you stick it out, you can easily become proficient at your job and learn to work smarter. You don't have to "biz rule" people and can instead rely on referrals and upsells for most of your quota attainment. All in all, this is NOT a bad job. It's sales, so at times it can be cutthroat and stressful, but what sales job is easy? Rely not just on your manager but feel free to ask your team for help, most team members take pride in helping one another be successful.

Minpunten

No room for advancement and can be a little frat house-y. If you are out of college, you will make enough so you can support yourself, but if you have a family, you won't make enough unless you move up, which is extremely difficult. There is a reason why lots of new parents have to leave Indeed, which is pretty sad. The 60 call a day rule is good for newbies that are starting out, but senior reps who sell bigger deals should focus on longer conversations, less calls. This is the only company I have ever worked for that has a "one size fits all" approach to how they manage new and senior people. Do not work here if you have a stick up your a**. There is no HR in the San Mateo office for a reason, half of the people there would be fired multiple times over for violations, and I'm including myself here. When I say violations, nobody does anything horrible, but be prepared to hear crazy things come out of people mouths sometimes.

Pluspunten

I loved the talented people I worked with; I appreciated being appreciated; I loved helping employers hire; and I really thought this would be the company I retired from.

Minpunten

The company culture changed significantly after it became publicly traded; I didn't particularly care for how they handled layoffs; they didn't always act on the feedback they received; and they were slow to jump on the AI train.
