When IPP bought out Kriser’s I watched the mess unravel for years. Watched them waste all of the company’s money on in-effective marketing. Watched them bring in far too much product at once only to discount it, eat the cost and then bring back similar (or even the same) products the next year. It was a constant “we need to do more and get more customers” but those people who barely stepped foot into a store had absolutely no idea how to do that. Cutting hours so stores had to work on single coverage also didn’t help. they had a million marketing employees but social media with little to no engagement, no budget for events and no way for stores to promote their events. My favorite was seeing that they hired ANOTHER person in that department while we had stores literally garbage picking for fixtures and having stores falling apart with no resources to help the Managers. Discrediting the views and expertise of employees who actually spent time in the field contributed to the demise of this company.
