Pluspunten
Working from home is a big plus and is able to be flexible if you wind up with late evening visits you can start later in the morning.
Minpunten
Not enough time in the day to complete all parts of the job. Lack of support from management. When you call regarding an issue that comes up and especially when it comes from the state of Indiana, if you call at 1:00 in the afternoon you are lucky if you get a call by the next afternoon,in the mean time you have got several urgent emails to have the question answered. Given 11 clients on a Friday and 9 new clients the following Monday and are expected to contact to introduce within 48 hours. On top of that, each and everyone did not have scheduled visits, missing work and 2 even had funding that was to expire within 30 days. Was told I would get clients within the county I lived in. Instead I received from the next county over, which made 45 minute drives instead of less than 30. The compensation therefore for office expenses was always short because of going through computer cartridges, paper, and the extra miles you had to drive to go to the next county. Having a smart device as they keep pushing does help with the enormity of the paper but it takes time to reload documents, upload meeting notes, signature sheets and having to convert everything to PDF because that is the only type some of the state systems would allow to upload to. On top of all that you have an excessive amount of emails daily to read, answer questions, convert documents, etc. Anywhere from 20-30 a day or more at times, in two months I had over 900 emails, it takes hours just to go through those and do what you need to do to answer the questions and by that time you have received several more. I was working 10-12 hour days and even on weekends and still could not keep my head above water. When I asked for assistance to help with the cases I received with missing documents that needed to be done, the answer was, it gets better and easier when you learn the systems. The response too was it takes about 6-12 months to fully learn all the systems, catch up with all the work past that was not done when given to you and the current work you now have. A full time case load is enough for 2 people. Bottom line, overworked, and grossly underpaid as well as a cap on business expenses, supplies, mileage doesn't even cover at times half of what should be covered.
