Ik hield van mijn team - allemaal jong, leuk om mee te babbelen en ambitieus, en ik heb nog steeds contact met een aantal voormalige collega's. Mooi kantoor en zeker een aantal memorabele tijden.

Tijdens mijn tijd daar zag ik dat veel stagiaires niets of bijna niets betaald kregen tussen 9/10 uur per dag en vaak na het eten bleven voor retrospectieven en demo's (om eerlijk te zijn betaalden ze soms pizza, maar ik denk dat dat het absolute minimum is dat je zou kunnen Doen). Veel loze beloftes die ik deed toen ik op de baan solliciteerde, die verre van vervuld waren: ik kreeg te horen dat ik bepaalde dingen zou gaan doen en uiteindelijk iets anders ging doen en ik kan je verzekeren dat dit het geval was voor veel werknemers daar. Oprichters slaagden er niet in een goede relatie op te bouwen met de vele stagiaires die voor hen werkten, wat resulteerde in veel negatief gepraat over hen achter hun rug om. Werk is ook volledig verstoken van structuur, waardoor ik soms gek werd, toen ik het kantoor binnenliep en geen idee had waar je vandaag aan zult werken. Dit is allemaal nogal ironisch als je bedenkt dat de oprichters, afkomstig uit een financiële en zakelijke achtergrond, iedereen vertelden dat ze wilden vermijden om een bedrijfscultuur te creëren.

- Many empty promises concerning the compensation. Many were promised a commission, which no one ever received. - Lack of organization and clear communication. The abundance of diverse tasks could be overwhelming. Tasks were often not communicated clearly so the expectations didn't match the end result. Or, while working through the task, suddenly you were told this is not what was discussed or there is a change of direction. This can happen within a few short hours or after working on a project for weeks. - False expectations. Despite an internship contract, you will be treated like a full-time employee. You will have 9-10h working days and you will be held accountable like full-time employees. It could be that you are expected to work on holidays, Friday evenings or on weekends. - Punctuality is expected from you, however, this doesn’t work the other way around. - Founders are not comfortable with criticism. This has ended in disputes in public, which was not a pleasant experience for any of the involved parties.
