0. super toxic environment, avoid joining at all costs
1. the founders: he listens to suggestions from one ear and then drops from other ear, they begin scrutinizing the person giving suggestion about topics like work life balance, or starts debatting on his latest thoughts on ai, that now everybody should solve 4-5 bugs parallely and ship it in one day.
2. they call you on weekends, ask for updates, tell you there is a customer waiting on monday, you put your effort thinking we will onboard a customer, and then nothing happens. the founder assigns task at evening, and expects you to complete it by morning (of course sacrifice your sleep, he doesn't care). he always try to be the good guy, he won't directly ask to stay up at night, won't directly ask you to sacrifice your weekends, but play mind games to get his work done, which generates no impact.
4. everything gets shipped in last minute, and most of the effort you put gets wasted as nobody is using it, or the approach will get change in a week as no discussion is put on the things you have implemented, lots of wastage of employee hours and no appreciation.
6. very poor salary for the work we are given to do, my peers working in startup are earning twice as much yearly working on surface technologies building apis, while we are working on technologies like ebpf, writing/fixing wire level parsers for mongodb, postgres, mysql, redis, and paid way below current market salary.
