Pluspunten

I had the privilege of being at KINF for two years on the marketing team and had a fantastic experience. The mission is great, the people are great, and when I was going through a tough time both management and HR went above and beyond to find solutions that worked for me. If you get hired here, you have the opportunity to bring ideas to the table to make a real difference.

Minpunten

Not much. Working at a nonprofit means the pay is less than you would make in a corporate setting, but I believe KINF pays more than an average nonprofit and there’s yearly bonuses with good benefits.

Pluspunten

- Kids and teachers get the help they need. - Some of the staff are great to work with!

Minpunten

I do not even know where to begin. You will be extremely underpaid, have about three people per 7x10 room, and have to do an extreme amount of work due to the lack of work done by management and the executive team. There is an infestation of flies who nest - or whatever flies do - within the walls. New products donated? Staff gets first pick! Staff should not get to pick anything and the donations should given to students and teachers - after all, that is why people and companies donate. Need time off? Your boss will demand you tell them why, even if it’s medical related, and then decide whether or not they will approve it. But don’t worry, that information won’t stay between you and your boss, it will be shared company-wide and to people outside the company! I would not say anything to your coworkers either because there are a few major office gossips and they will talk about others to you and talk about you to others. I currently work here but I, and many others, are actively looking to get out of this organization. Leadership gets upset if you get up and talk to a coworker for a few minutes, but they get to do as they please and will even sell their goo-filled donuts and make everyone spend two hours trying food from their side business. I cannot stress enough how you should not work here. There is more to say but I want to remain anonymous as I still work there. The interview process is horrible, absolutely no onboarding (no equipment, no training, no nothing!), and once you begin, you’re on your own. Should you decide to still apply, avoid working for the marketing team (management pushes their work to their staffers and even other teams), events team, client services team, or the development team. Those teams are scattered-brained, lack work ethic, and do not want to do any work themselves (especially leadership) so they will push to other teams or waste money outsourcing. I WISH I could say everything that happens there behind the scenes.
