Pluspunten
Working with the students is fun; seeing their development, and talking with the parents is fun as well. When the material clicks with the students, there is a sense of satisfaction. The pay is decent ($20 per hour).
Minpunten
1. Boss is terrible. She also schedules terribly, e.g. your availability is from 1400-1900 and she schedules a 1400, 1500, and an 1800.
2. She never owns up to her own mistakes, and tries to pawn them off to other employees. Also, she never tells you your hours promptly.
3. She rarely pays you on time, and misses paychecks often.
4. She does not follow labor laws. A few tutors worked 10+ straight hours (i.e. no lunch breaks), and did not get any compensation per CA labor laws.
5. Abuses her privileges with certain schools to boast a 95% admittance rate to private high schools in the area.
