Current CEO has turned the culture 180°; where leadership once supported collaboration and and promoted a positive culture built around actually equipping students with future-proof skills, the current CEO takes a “my way or be gone” attitude, constantly punches down and then apologizes, won’t listen to the input of others, and has completely turned the direction of the company into one that offers a solution that provides students with a software that “promotes a healthy relationship with technology,” whatever that means. Good luck getting districts to buy that as education budgets continue to shrink nationwide.
Layoffs: after bringing in a 430% increase in new business in 2024, leadership then laid off 30% of the staff, mostly product developers and support personnel. This negatively impacted morale, and frustrated new and long-time partner districts.
Update: more people laid off on 6/10/2025. Projected numbers are WAY off for the end of Q2. Maybe it’s not the reps’ fault, but the result of poor direction and moving too much cheese?
