The issue lies with leadership and C-Suite executives that continue to put their best interests above the interests of the business and their employees. Upper management are all related to the CEO. Therefore due to nepotism, core functions of the business are being run by under qualified people or people who do not care enough to do their job well because they will not be fired by the CEO. As a result, the managers are stretched incredibly thin with little to no resources and junior members are expected to do the job of 2-3 people without proper guidance. Leadership is refuses to invest in long term hires or resources to alleviate this issue and allow the business to run smoothly. Additionally, Amy, the CPO/COO is the most under qualified person at the firm. She absolutely has no empathy or compassion as the head of HR and has no business aptitude to run the day to day operations as COO at an investment bank. The biggest red flag is that your compensation and career progression is largely dictated by whether or not Geoff and Amy like you. There are no clear or consistent benchmarks for a promotion or raise. And the career path at this firm is extremely limited unless you are on the Deal Team.
