Pluspunten

The work - Vast majority of people are generally easy to work with and helpful - Some are clearly passionate about the product and the quality of their work - Work can be interesting and rewarding - You can upskill very fast as a junior The benefits - Clothing & training allowance is good (though clothing allowance is provided as a taxable benefit) - 4 weeks work-from-anywhere is great - Salary sacrifice pension contribution offered - Central London office with lovely views, 2x days per week in-office is decent, though employees cannot choose which days these are The environment - Flexible working arrangements are protected, high trust from managers (for the most part) to take appointments if you need as long as you get your work done - Chilled atmosphere, no micromanagement and no-blame culture, work-life balance is great

The work - C-Suite set unrealistic goals that are based on feeling rather than evidence - Managers are not equipped to properly performance manage due to lack of training - Promotions are based on arbitrary criteria and is often about who you know, rather than the quality of work you produce - 'Chilled' atmosphere comes with its drawbacks - doesn't feel like staff are pushing themselves or innovating, if you just want to coast then this will suit you - Engineering leadership feels like a boys club, causes concern around diversity of thought (e.g. no female engineering leaders) - Significant turnover - currently there are active roles for >10% of our workforce, but this is to maintain, not to grow - Recent acquisition by Zozo has left people waiting to see what the strategy will look like in the future, and how it will impact day-to-day The benefits - Salary bands are not updated frequently enough and are falling behind the market - Lyst back this up by saying they know they can't match tech leaders like Meta etc - No bonuses - Review cycles moved from 2x per year to 1x - Minimum pension contribution - UP TO 29 holidays as some are mandatory to use over Christmas, so the number of remaining days depend on how many Christmas days are required and varies year-to-year The environment - Social aspect seems to have taken a hit in the past year, barely any budget for it. The usual suspects who make the time to stay at socials are the only ones driving the culture, but the crowd is thinning - Vast majority of the social clubs mentioned in job ads don't exist anymore
