Hello former Editing Manager, you walked off the job almost 2 years ago to this day, so I decided that this would be an appropriate time to respond. I must ask, why would you wait 2 years, almost 100 weeks, to say such mean and hurtful things about me? I've spent time pondering it and I have to wonder if it’s because you’re not at a comparable role to this day – I am sorry to hear that. To address your Pros: I do not hire unproven people any longer. I have learned my lessons well in the area of just settling with the status quo. I am making sure that I don’t hire anyone that is not fully proven. To address your Cons: I am an entrepreneur. I started the business with only $1,000 and it has taken persistence and determination, as a result of my passion, to create such an amazing company that now touches the lives of every American through workplace safety. Sometimes my passion, and the fact that I’m the youngest of 6, gets misinterpreted when I ask questions about how a task is being performed – hence why I now only hire proven people that are congruent with my core values. I now understand that I can find the top 20% of staff for the company. There are lots of people that love to work under passionate entrepreneurs, people that want to make a difference in the world. Just look at Wikipedia, it was completely created by people that care about making the world better, they don’t even want money, they just want to make a difference! Those are the 20% of people that I want to direct. As head of Editing, you should remember that I renegotiated all of the attorneys (contract employee) compensation on the Employer Guides because we developed a computer publishing platform that took an enormous amount of the work out of updating that product line, and it increased the quality of the product to the end user. When we purchased that product line, the attorneys were required to do a lot of redundant steps that we were able to totally eliminate because of our exceptional programming work and the development of a very unique publishing platform. You quit the day after I asked you and our Operations Manager to layoff an attorney that was reporting directly to you that had not produced any work in over 3 weeks. He admitted that he had been surfing the internet the entire time, and there was no point in continuing to pay someone that you didn't have any work for. The very next day you turned in your 2 week notice, and left after 1 week. Our Operations Manager, who’d been here for 4 years, left the same day. The company was hurting for a while, but we managed to pull everything together and we have actually improved many processes considerably. I remember and very much appreciate your dedication to the job, you would do whatever it took to get books out on time, and you would work weekends, and long hours and that’s what it took. Today, I think that you’d be happy to find out that our processes have gotten even more automated and editors don’t have to work almost any overtime. We had the processes when you were here, unfortunately you just didn't follow them. Our new Regs2Go and our Code Green projects are absolutely revolutionary in the area of compliance. The same way that we changed safety in America, we are going to change the very essence of compliance for all occupations and to quote our Vision Statement: “To make the world a better place by providing the platform for building upon intellectual property created by others.” It’s been 2 years since you've left, I’m sorry that you feel that the company would run exactly the same way. I have learned a lot about managing and mostly hiring the right people, the right people that are passionate about making the world a better place by providing value to every customer just by doing business with us.
