Exceptionally talented team: The people at Made Tech are without a doubt one of its biggest assets. I had the privilege of working with some of the brightest, most skilled individuals of my career. Supportive, collaborative environment: Made Tech encourages open discussion and values contributions from across the whole organisation. It feels like a small company where people genuinely care and want to be involved in the decisions. Generous holiday allowance: The 30 days annual leave is competitive and other recent updates to benefits show they're trying to improve things for employees (perhaps to make up for not paying top salaries?) .
Minpunten
While there’s a lot of talk about strategy at Made Tech, I'm not so sure. The reality often feels extremely reactive. Key decisions seem knee-jerk rather than planned. Getting buy-in for initiatives or even sign-off on necessary (and often pretty fundamental) work was always frustratingly difficult. It felt like many decisions were stalled or just simply not prioritised by the senior leadership. Despite good intentions at middle management level, many decisions were ultimately not even brought to the table/considered by the Exec team, which left the team I was in feeling unable to achieve any real change. The company values input from everyone, which is great in theory, but in practice, it sometimes leads to decision paralysis. Not every operational or strategic decision needs consensus. The full marketing team being let go (except one contractor) in July 2025 seems very short-termist. It's not really clear to me how new business will be driven in the coming 12-18 months. It leaves the teams with revenue targets extremely exposed. Even though the leave allowance is generous, nobody tells you before you join that several days must be taken during the Christmas shutdown - so watch out for that. 30 days becomes 27....
