Expected to work 50 hr weeks as well as extended hours on event weekend for no additional compensation. Watched as temporary workers waited weeks longer than they should have for payment from event hours work with no apology or acknowledgement from the company for the delay. Little to no standards clearly set for displays for items, but faced strict (and often contradictory) scrutiny from different members of middle management. Middle management seemed to spend most of their time trying to prove who had the most local authority without doing the work of conveying information from higher up the chain of command. Additionally most mistook abuse and degradation for an appropriate management technique, or simply made it a point to say callous things about all hourly workings being replaceable during team meetings. Employees frequently bullied into working events, some out of state, on short or no notice. Completely ignored input from employees about which items were most often asked after and which were routinely complained about. Instead would insist on focusing and pushing high markup items for which there was little interest. The expectation was for every employee to give 110% effort and enthusiasm for the benefit of a company that couldn't care less for their well-being.
