The resources provided by the institute are amazing, the IST department is great and really helpful.

Minpunten

The supervision is super bad, Directors behave like gods and don't like criticism. Also, the international office seems to be racist without any consideration for outsiders.

Freedom to work on your own project. Excellent travel support to attend conference, workshops, visit other institutes. doing research on cutting-edge subjects

Minpunten

This is a research institute and should not compare with a university environment, students should be faster. The students should work very independently and there is no much help from senior people.

* MPII is filled with smart people. The conversations are usually great and you get to learn a lot.

The salaries for working students are some of the lowest amongst research institutes.
