Unfortunately, there are no pros to working at Mercom.
Minpunten
Below are the cons that have continued to plague Mercom:
- Employees are forced to wear multiple hats on a day-to-day basis due to the lack of direction and guidance from executive management; pay for most positions within the company is nominal and executive management seems to do their very best to keep is this way.
- Multiple instances of executive management lying to employees faces and not following through with promises or assurances that were made; employees have been gathered together multiple times over the past few years to assist executive management with voicing concerns or valid ideas of new strategies only to be completely disregarded.
- Intense micromanagement has become the norm.
- Executive management is notorious for making knee-jerk reactions to implement new policies or procedures at an astounding rate; over the past three years there have been multiple instances of reduction in workforce and creating new “visions” that should better the company, only to completely dismantle employee morale and motivation.
- Little to no advancement for the more senior persons within the organization; new hires are more or less thrown into the ring without a full or clear-cut understanding of their day-to-day expectations.
- Core values, inclusive but not limited to accountability, were created a year ago and executive management seems to be held to completely different standards.
