They don't call what I do for Meritan a "job". They call it "training". I am at a non profit foundation called COMEC. The Commission for Missing and Exploited Children. It is a good organization but I don't have much to do and I get bored because of that. I am paid by the government, only $7.25 and hour for 20 hours of work per week. (Not enough). I am 68 years old and they are an agency to help Senior Citizens in the workforce. I am not being trained on anything new. I think these non-profits just want free help to answer the phones. Meritan makes you look for a job while you do this. There is ALWAYS something they want you to do! Classes at the TN Career Center and job fairs...There is also a problem faxing your time sheet! You have to do it several times, as they say they didn't get it. But the printout says they did. It is a typical government agency. The people that work there are not trained right. You can get 10 different answers from 10 different people. They try hard but are seriously understaffed.
