Research is encouraged. There is a lot of emphasis on new (young) employees, and great training programs, both corporate-formal and department-level.

The freedom to experiment often leads to good ideas that don't fit within the overall corporate goals for products. A lot of emphasis is placed on near-term solutions. Champions that are motivated to solve longer-term issues are often isolated and simply ignored by the larger group.
