Pluspunten

They have a large building in a good location They provide free lunch twice a week There is a good work-life balance Management's incompetence can often be utilized to your advantage

Minpunten

Middle and upper management is pretty much the stereotype of people who have been promoted by kissing butt and not making waves. As a result, they are pretty clueless and incompetent. They do not know the direction they want to go as a company. Are they a mind-mapping tool; are they innovation software? Do they want to sell to small businesses; do they want to sell to enterprises? Are they planning on IPO? THEY DON'T KNOW! Scott Raskin is more concerned with hiring buddies and his detox diets than effectively running the company.

Pluspunten

Great products. Good benefits. Great SF office. Cool technology and product engineering. Some great people in the mix. Nice perks like free lunch, beverages, ping-pong, etc. Sound finances and financial management. Good pay for management. The products have always and continue to sell themselves... because they're very good.

Minpunten

Quite political environment. Constant shifts in priorities without real long-term vision. History of "me too" products. Egocentric and intimidation-based executive management (CEO). Marketing department was a revolving cast of "characters" who didn't survive long in the CEO's crosshairs. Poor internal development of talent and promotion from within... one must move out to move up. It was commonplace to bring in outside vendors when internal personnel were often more skilled, more informed, and more motivated... and often these 3rd party results were weak. Sadly, this is/was a place where it was very difficult for dedicated, talented employees to move up... even when opportunities were obvious. In general, morale was always pretty "meh". CEO is a strong and charismatic salesman, but lacking in product/technology vision... and there was a lot of hollow cheerleading and fist-pumping. The company seems to have been living at a plateau (revenue, innovation, etc.) for almost a decade.
