I had been teaching English for about 8 years before working at Modulo, and I feel as though I’ve learned so much from my experiences working here. I worked for the Iconsiam branch, while there I taught a huge variety of student types; I taught children as young as 5, to business English to adults, as well as examination preparation courses (IELTS, TOEIC), and other course types based on the individual needs of students. If this sounds daunting to you, don’t worry, we aren’t just suddenly expected to be able to teach all of these topics, we are trained and I feel eased into it. I always felt I had sufficient training and support to tackle my lessons; my colleagues and managers would always be willing to have a chat and share ideas/thoughts about lessons (I can only speak for the IS branch, as this is where I worked, so highly recommend there). Outside of teaching, there are some other benefits, such as discounted language lessons (the Thai teachers are very good), company events (Christmas parties, sporting events), and leave can be quite flexible if you book days off early enough in advance. If you want to meet people and socialise, I believe you will have ample opportunity to do so here, as we have had quite a few get-togethers during national holidays. Also, how can I forget the students; some of them really brightened up my day and will be truly missed. So yeah, I’d honestly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to live in Bangkok and is serious about wanting to teach. Summary: - great people working there - a lot of support from everyone - training helped me learn a lot - flexible leave - good opportunities - language lessons are 75% off for staff - plenty of chances to socialise and meet people - you’ll be in Bangkok, one of the most exciting cities in the world - if you like malls, you’ll be working in some of the most luxurious ones (it can feel quite cool to say that you work in one of the really famous malls.) - can also work online from home if that’s something you’d be interested in - salary increases annually based on performance

I’d say, any criticism I have are typical of most other educational companies that I know of, as it’s much different from working in a school but worth being aware of. I’ll list them below: - unlikely to get weekends off - generally speaking, daily scheduling can make it hard to make personal plans too far in advance (perhaps choosing hourly time slots within each day can help with this in the future) - if you dislike malls, you’d better get used to being in one almost every day (although you do have the option to work from home too for online classes) - as a vegetarian, there weren’t a huge range of options at Iconsiam, if you’re a vegetarian/vegan, I’d recommend choosing the Siam Paragon branch as there are more choices there at the time of writing this.
