Super slow pace. Many talented and dynamic people get frustrated and leave. Dumb processes. Productivity is appalling. Tools and mindset are 30 years old. Very hierarchical. Decisions are handed down without explanation. Engineers are just workers. Increasingly political. NetApp was once blessedly free of politics, but not any more. Stagnant. Gigantic technical debt. "Top priorities" are not linked to any sort of fresh thinking. Institutional paralysis. Even when everyone can see that something doesn't work, we keep right on doing it.
