I am here on Glassdoor researching potential employers because I desperately need to get out of here. I know without a shadow of a doubt, that this review will not change the behaviors of this company towards its employees. I could only hope. As of the date of my writing of this review. NetWolves has 2.9 stars. I truly believe that the reviews written on Feb 6, 2014 and Jan 1, 2014 were written to inflate the overall rating of this company, which I think is shameful and unethical. There are other ways to get those stars. I feel the need to write this for the people out there who actually use Glassdoor as a tool in evaluating their potential employers. You are at Glassdoor reading this because you: 1. care about your career and are considering employment with this organization, or 2. you are someone on the leadership team looking to see what your staff is saying about you (unlikely because I really don’t think they care), as opposed to taking a hard and honest look at yourself in the mirror, OR, 3. you are someone on the staff looking to see what the latest negative review looks like and trying to guess who wrote it, we’ve all talked about these reviews. Deep down inside (or maybe not so deep), many in the 3rd group find some satisfaction with the “Cons” portion of the not-so-positive reviews, because someone actually said it, it is so true, and it is somehow validating. I know you know what I’m saying. I feel it too and am beyond unhappy here. It is one of the worst jobs that I have ever had. The job postings that you see now are to back-fill positions of employees that are leaving in droves (for a reason) or have been fired. I guess if you are unemployed and need to eat, they will give you a paycheck (albeit, as little as they can get away with), but every day here could potentially be a wasted day in your career. My suggestion to you is to wait it out and pass on this one. If you must accept employment, don’t stop looking and keep using Glassdoor. You’ll see what I mean in a very short period of time. Do not expect your skills or experience to have any bearing on how you perform your job. You will do as you are told by someone above you who is ill-qualified to make decisions, and, right or wrong, you will be held accountable. Should you accept a position, I’d like to offer some survival advice: 1. Never disagree or offer your opinion. Chances are that you will be mocked or publicly shamed. Also, this is considered insubordination. And never forget that you will be held accountable for all of the the bad decisions. 2. Get in line and stay there. 3. Do as you’re told, right or wrong, and never question it. 4. Keep your head down and smile whether you feel it or not (because perception rules). 5. There is a part of the annual performance review that asks if you participated in the Halloween Costume contest. (Hint: If you don’t participate… that’s a negative) The core method of motivation here is intimidation and fear of losing your job. Screaming and swearing can be heard from the corner office on a regular basis. When something goes wrong, the proverbial beatings begin… not so much from the customers, because their complaints are justified, but from the leadership team from the highest levels of the organization. None of them will jump in to support the staff (and in turn, their customers) in any way. Leadership runs and hides in preparation of the impending lightning bolt from the corner office, and will sacrifice ANY and ALL to save themselves. Anyone that has ever stood up to it, is no longer here. The core of this companies problems are with their leadership team. The person at the top instills fear in his subordinates, which drives many poor decisions and annual re-orgs. Perception rules the day, and facts are irrelevant to the witch hunters because someone needs to burn at the stake. You will never see accountability at the executive level. Now that we’re a public company, maybe that will change. It’s all about self-survival for them (out of fear). It’s the perfect crime because the staff will always be sacrificed. Companies like this don’t change, they rot from within. You cannot treat your employees in such a poor, condescending and disdainful manner in a service organization and expect to have engaged employees… and I feel that’s the only way to success. Fear and blame are not a sustainable approach to the true problems. The market is turning the tables on you and others in this industry, in this area, are hiring. All of the above leads to wide spread back stabbing for the sake of survival and I have watched good and ethical people turn bad. My only goal with this review is to attempt to help someone from wasting their valuable career time. Glassdoor reviews are so far beyond restaurant or product reviews. If you take your career serious, let Glassdoor reviews help you with your decision process more so than you would a dinner decision. There are more and more good companies out there who treat their "most valuable asset" with dignity and respect. I wish you the best of luck in your career search!!
