Pluspunten
The team is transparent and straight forward. If you want to know something just ask them or submit a question in the anonymous form and they answer it in the Monthly All Hands. They preach people and empowerment which is mostly true. The company did have some downsizing at the end of 2023 when the market turned. Some clients went out of business or were acquired which did not help NR. Now in 2024 sales is finally bringing in clients to backfill the clients that were acquired which is a good sign. Benefits are really good for being such a small company. Full Health Ins, Dental and Vision all covered with a bunch of options to pick from. 401k match is ~4%, monthly internet/cell phone reimbursement funds, standard holidays, flexible PTO & Sick time (See cons) and the office has a bunch of drinks & snacks. My favorite is the monthly lunch card to buy food which is $80 a month would love this to increase! Soon they are offering a sort of employee stock program. Interviewing was straight forward with HR, pretty standard meeting the team and the Department leads. The Service team is big and hopefully growing again soon like when I started, the rest of the teams and departments are pretty small.
Minpunten
Flexible PTO & Sick Time, you don't get a set number of days its just flexible which is an annoying tech startup thing. There is a slight vibe between coworkers about taking a lot of PTO and it just feels weird to me. I wish it was just a fixed amount so I didn't feel like I was abusing the system. Bonuses were cut a bit in 2023 with the downturn but it makes sense as we were over staffed for the amount of work we had at the time. Learning the job is wayyyy better than my last 2 jobs but could still be improved. They give you any test materials, pay for certs and do lunch and learns but a lot of the day to day is still improving and changing constantly so at least they are trying. Ask lots of questions and ask for more shadow time with seniors when you start out as a tech!
