Pluspunten
Work Atmosphere: Most people are motivated, smart, and hard working. There are some that are just coasting and a a surprising number of people who don't do anything. Most people are friendly enough and helpful. Nothing special here. Pay: Personally I think I get paid fairly for the effort I put in. Hard to say overall as there is no transparency around grade-levels and pay structure. Some people who have been here for years and are very knowledgeable, hard-working etc. have lower titles than their peers who do half as much. No review process in my department so not sure how they decide who gets a promotion or raise. Though seems like if you talk a good game here and kiss up a little, you don't really have to back it up or produce anything. Mgmt will think you're fine - possibly great. Though it probably helps if your skin reflects all incoming light and you have a Y chromosome. Great work\life balance - Some people do work long hours but most people do their 9-5 and go home. If you are not good at your job or just lazy, you can probably coast here for 6 months to a year (more if you're a smooth talker) before anyone in management notices. Then when it is brought to their attention they don't seem to do anything about it. Pretty sweet if that's your thing. I suppose this could be a con for other people though.
Minpunten
Management: Low-rent version of Succession - they are half as despicable but twice as incompetent. CEO often says the right things while he oozes self-importance and contempt for worker-bees. When they start off every email reminding you that other companies have layoffs while they 'encourage' you to 'keep up the good work', you know where you stand. Company was recently acquired by new VC. Mgmt is super stoked since they have stocks options and announce it to everyone else (who does not have options) and are stunned we are not over the moon at their good fortune. Total cluelessness. Diversity: There is very little diversity here... unless you count the different strains of the European diaspora of the 19th and 20th centuries... It's pretty bad. Company Direction: Haven't been here that long but to hear the old timers talking, the company has tried half a dozen times to get to the cloud and have yet another new strategy... Seems like this should have been figured out a while ago. But I'm getting good experience both in my field and in the ways of crazy, greedy, corporate America. I think it's a good place to spend a few years (especially if you are starting out) but definitely don't stay here too long.
