Pluspunten

There are a few good, honest people working at O'Sullivan. It is really too bad that the major and glaring issues have made most of those people leave.

Minpunten

Management is so stuck in the 1970's...makes sense as that is probably the last time O'Sullivan actually turned a profit. There is some serious favoritism for certain people and departments that clouds judgement. The sales and development executives are a total joke. The CEO has NO control over the company. O'Sullivan was lucky enough to have convinced a German company to buy them out a few years ago. The Germans put their own people in charge and essentially run the company treating the American employees like mindless machines. The only way they make money these days is by customers actually doing them a favor and placing an order or because the German parent company gave them their business. Really it is pathetic. Even the sales people know the products are terrible. This is really a miserable place to work. Change is either so slow, non-existent, or going in the wrong direction. The whole community knows O'Sullivan is a sinking ship. Promotions don't exist. If you absolutely must work there...and you are not going to be a manufacturing line worker...be prepared for (min) 12 hour days, abusive bosses, old depressing offices, and a complete lack of regard for your health and happiness.

Pluspunten

I have worked at O' Sullivan Films for slightly less than 1 year. I have found the 4 on 4 off rotating schedule very liberating, allowing my family and I to accomplish a lot more on my days off. Production floor pay is very competitive, locally. Benefits are great as a whole, although I personally consider the health insurance premiums to be on the high end of tolerable. Other benefits are fantastic. O' Sullivan's offers a health fair, safety achievement rewards program, etc. etc. Having worked at numerous manufacturing operations, I can say that companies that take this level of vested interest in all aspects of employee well being, are becoming more and more rare. Management does an excellent job of communicating the market climate and our fiscal positions to each and every employee, which evokes confidence and speaks to a high level of transparency. It is apparent that senior management and ownership are coninually re-investing in the company, which helps to foster security. One herald of a good employer is longevity in the workforce, and it is common for employees at this company to have 30 or 40 years in. Opportunities for advancement are abundant, and honestly based on performance, which is a great consideration for the job seeker. If you are either looking for a job for a few years, or are seeking a career to settle into for the long term, I would recommend working for O' Sullivan Films

Minpunten

Health insurance premiums a little high (I believe this may be from a generally older long term workforce with higher health care costs)
