Pluspunten

The environment is really upbeat. I really enjoy my peers and the CEO a lot. I was really nervous to work with this group of people but the structure is really easy to follow and there is a lot of support for your growth. I started to take advantage of the management training program. This is a very self propelled program. If you aren't a hard worker or have the want to be in charge of yourself and our ultimate destiny, this place isn't for you.

Minpunten

I took a step back but ultimately will be taking a HUGE step forward in my career. The management training only take like 6 months. This is definitely a position for the individual with an entrepreneur mindset.

Pluspunten

Very fun and inviting environment. Great opportunity for entrepreneurs to grow and learn all about business. Everyone is very welcoming and make work exciting everyday. The CEO is an amazing role model and really hands on with developing each and every employee. She works with you to improve anything you are struggling with and praises you for all the skills you're excelling in.

Minpunten

It's unfortunate that people may look at this job and think it's a "too good to be true" situation and be skeptical about applying because of the fast rate you can grow to management and the great compensation involved although it may seem that way it's completely untrue and I encourage anyone to apply, you won't be disappointed.

Pluspunten

The compensation plan has real opportunity, if selling Satellite TV is something you're comfortable with (helps if you don't actually care about what's best for the customer, or you'd tell them to get Netflix). This small company is an offshoot of a larger company that handles Direct Sales programs in a multitude of stores, those opportunities exist to owners who prove worthwhile. Some warehouse employees are awesome. Team nights (although photos attached presently are from the larger Tacoma office that this company has branched off of). Some of the people you will work with, here and from the attached Tacoma office, are genuinely good people, constantly improving.

Minpunten

Lack of (actual) training (partly a result of the below, no time for it when the owner is staffing stores themselves). Short-staffed, VERY high turnover, don't expect to hold this job for long. Standing 10.5 hours a day (contractually obligated to staff their stores open to close - full shifts or half shifts available, understand your time requirements) Who REALLY wants Satellite TV service? It's western Washington, home of Microsoft, no one wants Satellite service. Some warehouse employees are nuts. The Wireless guys will make fun of you a lot, since they're making more and doing less, many people end up leaving to work there. No medical benefits. Lack of team work (you spend an hour a day 3 days a week meeting in the Bothell office with your 'team' before going to the warehouse, otherwise you occupy the store alone. No, talking on the phone does not equate to teamwork) Some of the people you will work with are users, as the business type attracts; so it goes.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve the experience of the employees and clients here at Oasis. Because compensation is commission as well as a comfortable hourly its totally up to the individual to apply the learning tools given and self motivate to display their student mentality to become great at customer service and marketing. There are individuals in the company who are making much higher than the average household income, (average income per person in America is about 26k a year) This is simply because they display a great work ethic and understand that in our industry it takes a love of people, communication, an a TRUE entrepreneurial mindset to excel in the management training program. Each individual is given all the tools and resources to learn the knowledge needed to be an expert at what we offer. It doesn’t make much sense for anyone involved to not receive training. We are trusted by the company ranked 10th on the fortune 500 list to produce fantastic customer service reps. A company that is worth close to 150 Billion dollars that trusts us with their customer base isn’t interested in low quality so we wouldn’t be able to represent them if this were the case. But as I stated before, holding a high professional image and work ethic it totally up to the individual 😉 We are displeased to hear that you believe you need to lie to speak to others about our clients. Again as a company trusted to staff the 2nd largest retailer in the world its safe to say that a company that size would not allow any company to jeopardize their multi billion dollar brand. At Oasis we understand that many people are more comfortable with sitting behind a desk or working a 9-5 at an hourly based job. This Is the case for the higher percent of America. As we stated before to move forward in our training program the want of responsibility is needed. The people staffing McDonalds do not make CEO salaries. Because our clients are looking for expansion Oasis is looking for manager material. As for the schedule, its based on the initial conversation had with the hiring manager. Each employee is asked if they prefer full time or part time during the first round interview. We inform each person that our schedule for full time is 45 hours minimum. We have never met anyone who was motivated to make a large salary that didn’t understand that the level of responsibility and work ethic expected is much higher than those at McDonalds, for example. The schedule is also based on the employees availability and the clients need. To address benefits, there are compensation benefits and wellness benefits. We do not offer health because as a training program the people who come here to learn about business are not here for very long before they are placed in a management roll. The entry level sales position does not take more than 4-6 weeks to get promoted out of. Therefore not enough time to qualify. We are also sorry to hear that you believe the other employees are “making fun of you”. Here at Oasis we're well versed on compensation at the hourly position at the cell phone kiosk. It’s a livable wage, yes, but also no room for improvement and growth like our growth available at Oasis. The Cell phone kiosk is a great place to work if you are comfortable with an easy, no effort position that only offers 25-30 hours a week. A lot of people who get really good at sales and customer service with us here move into that position because they are not interested in the responsibility of developing themselves or others. We're excited that we can develop someone into a great sales personality and see them move to something that is better fitting for their personality. There is slight confusion about the CEO staffing comment. As a small business it only makes sense for the person in charge to be involved with the clients and individuals. We are not believers in managing people from a distance, but leading them. If we are not teaching, training, and developing others first hand then we're not practicing “what I preach” so to say. Lastly, claiming that an entire staff is “users” is disappointing to say the least. One of the qualifications to even be considered an employee is to pass a 10 panel drug screen and background check. Not only does Oasis take these qualifications seriously but so do our clients. Again, we're sorry you ended up not being right for the position. Hopefully you are able to find something more suitable for you. The high level of expectation and professionalism here is not right for everyone. Good luck in your future endeavors!
