Pluspunten
Noble mission. History of making a real difference for people, kids, families with substance abuse problems under lead of the org’s founder, now retired. Good health benefits for a non-profit (full-time workers only). Facilities are beautiful and safe. Direct supervisor is great and the work important.
Minpunten
The organization is being misled at the top. Founding CEO retired several years ago. New CEO and selected exec team are major disappointments. This once vibrant program has lost its high level of character, sophistication and compassion. A mass exit of longtime experienced personnel has drained the programs of heart and soul, and resulted in overburdened, unhappy staff. Leaders seem insincere, overly concerned with personal recognition, reject ideas that threaten (staff suggestions are resisted until the same good ideas are repurposed and presented as coming from favored managers). Long-time execs and directors work hard to protect the mission and support staff, but it’s a battle, felt at all levels. This is not how to “build healthy lives” for anyone. It’s very sad, most of all for the clients the org serves.
