Most individual contributors were genuinely trying to do good and work together for the most part. There was a sense of camaraderie among the team members. Pay was pretty decent, which made the job financially rewarding despite the challenges. HR was absolute fire with it's gifts they would send out throughout the year. They also were a really nice team to interact with.

The leader of Engineering frequently referred to himself as a "Benevolent Dictator" with glee. Anytime someone refers to themselves as a dictator, no matter what the scenario, it is a massive red flag. This so-called "leader" made it a point to monitor every single Slack channel, instructing people on how to do their jobs, despite not even being able to figure out basic tasks on their own. The micromanagement was appalling, showing an inherent lack of trust in the team and the leaders below him. This created a toxic culture from the top down, affecting everyone involved. The engineering all hands meeting consisted of a group of old white men "joking" amongst themselves that made it seem as far from inclusive as possible. Especially when the SVP is making misogynistic jokes about how his "wife doesn't understand technology".

Transparent Management, great feedback cycle, approachable leaders, growth mindset. In a world where companies are ditching employees for AI and rehiring others, this company is taking the employees with it. There is growth mindset and that includes individual growth as well.

This is the best place I have ever worked. It is not perfect, but nowhere is and PayNearMe is as good as I have ever seen it. The people: Genuinely nice, smart, dedicated hard working people that care about each other and the company. There is a reason that so many people have been at this company for so long and it is not because it is a rocket ship of valuation. It is simply a great place to work. Transparency: Across the organization, maybe to a fault. Leadership tells you everything. They will even tell you when they don’t know what they’re doing, which could be unsettling but at least you know where you stand, and they know they don’t have all the answers but they work hard to move the company in the right direction. Fairness: They treat people fairly, with respect and dignity even when it doesn’t work out. Compensation: Not the highest paying, but you know it is fair. Who has ever heard of a market rate adjustment? A significant unrequested increase in salary so that you are fairly paid at market! What?!

Unfortunately hired a small handful of individuals who have nothing better to do than write salacious over the top reviews on this platform to smear good people and the reputation of a good company. Get out from behind your keyboards, grow up and get a life!
