This is the start up of your nightmares. An egotistical CEO who chases down and hunts every good person that has walked through the doors of that hellish warehouse and destroyed their confidence, work product and every shred of humanity they possessed. Pair this with a group of employees who are so desensitized to the abuse that they rarely glance up when the CEO screams, throws things and pouts his way through the workday. Silence is the language of employees and perhaps a few raised eyebrows when people cry openly at their desks after enduring another tirade by the CEO. There's a reason they can't keep employees and entire departments are run by a single person. Sometimes the only way to make it through the day was to either cry or start drinking at 3pm. In my time there, I saw multiple employees quit and entire departments collapse. I witnessed sheer narcism destroy solid work and limit the ability of the company to grow. Work/life balance is only something wish you could achieve. You'll stare at your phone and see the Instagram feeds of your friends out for a drink while you stay up until 2am trying to complete a project that shouldn't have been sold in the first place. The real tragedy is that the CEO is actually a pretty smart and fun guy (when you're not working with him) but he has a horrific temper paired with an ego that could rival the current President. If he could simply serve as a thought leader/founder type he would likely see the vision come to fruition. You don't want to live this nightmare my friend. Stay far, far away. And if you decide not to heed this advice, make sure you have at least 3 months backup salary stored in your savings account because you will come out of the fog, realize you're having a real life workplace nightmare and get out of there as soon as you possibly can.
