Pluspunten

Philips cares deeply about patient care, and the impact it's products make on quality of care. Ethics and integrity are high, and compliance to regulations globally are closely adhered too and monitored. Being a large company, growing a long term career is also possible and encouraged, although it is not easy and you must take ownership of you own career development.

Minpunten

Philips today is a company comprised of many acquisitions, which has created a culture that varies widely depending on the sector you are part of. Avoid imaging systems, heavy handed dictatorial management has created a negative culture. On the other hand, patient monitoring (PCCI) and HHS are very different, more collaborative, values employees and what they do.

The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

Minpunten

Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
