Pluspunten

Good people: Cheerful hard working 1st generation immigrants. Knowing Spanish is useful.

Minpunten

Upper management is quite poor with a strong disconnect from the factory floor despite that being where the money comes from.

Pluspunten

Your co-workers are nice...that's about it

Minpunten

The pay is terrible (they say you make $10hr but it's really $9hr). The breaks are only 10 mins( they expect you to be back working on time so really it's 8 mins). If your a minute late you get docked for the whole week ($8hr). The supervisors are habitual liars and will yell at you for a mistake they made. The bathrooms are dirty just like the rest of this place. You can never sit down. Idk how this place stays open oh wait by lying saying you move up or get hired in.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. We are committed to a positive, collaborative and efficient work environment where workers can succeed- so we’re dismayed to hear about your negative experience. On a positive note, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your co-workers. We work hard to find the best employees – reliable team workers who take pride in their work. More than half of our current employees have been with us 25+ years. So we’re glad that you enjoyed these hard smart working folks. We like them a lot too and we’re glad that they have found more satisfaction at work at Plastomer than you did. From the wages you shared it sounds like you worked at Plastomer as a temporary worker rather than an employee. $8 an hour is not a wage that temporary workers are paid at Plastomer so I am not sure how to respond. Perhaps you had concerns about the taxes and social security that are taken out of your wages. I hope you spoke with the temporary staffing agency that wrote your check. It also sounds like you were upset that you weren’t hired in as a Plastomer employee. We frequently hire excellent temporary workers directly. From your comments perhaps getting to work on time was an issue for you and maybe put you at odds with your supervisor? Manufacturing is a team effort employees need to show up to work reliably and be on time. We rely on each other to make our product and when team members are missing we’re not efficient- the product costs more to make and we lose customers. Thank you for your complaints. We can always improve communicating our expectations of the skills and effort that we need in our employees. During the work day we have two ten minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. These breaks have been negotiated and are part of our collective bargaining agreement. You will find this is a common work schedule in production environments. Our supervisors are tasked with handling many different and often difficult situations. All of our production supervisors started as workers on the production floor and many of them first came to Plastomer as temporary workers. Their experience makes them a great resource to new workers learning their jobs. Your feedback and we be more supportive of our supervisors and provide opportunities to improve their communication skills and develop better training for new workers. Thank you for your suggestions. Many of us have worked hard to create a company where employees feel valued, qualified, and empowered to succeed and grow in their role. Feedback on what we are doing well and where we are missing the mark are appreciated and can be discussed with a supervisor or the Human Resources department at any time.
