Pluspunten
When I was there from 2009 to 2011 the team I worked with in Large Group Benefits was incredible!
Power Group really cares about their employees and providing a positive team structure. All the way to the top with Mark Avery (President), he really likes to get to know his staff beyond just a business setting.
One Friday of each quarter the business will close at about 3 and have a company social in the break room with food and drinks provided, including wine and beer just to have some time for bonding and relaxation with coworkers.
The teams are structured so that you have support and help readily available from multiple people in case your primary supervisor or team member is out of the office on a business call.
Minpunten
Insurance is a crazy industry, and changes everyday with new laws and practices, so you have to like a bit of chaos to really thrive.
Since I left in 2011 a lot of turnover with staff has occurred so I'm not sure if the company culture has changed as a result.
In some occasions even if you are on a team of 5 people you may be the only one in the office, so you are temporarily fielding all calls or emails for the team that need to be addressed immediately, even if they are concerns from clients who are not in your Book of Business.
