Pluspunten

Remote work is always a plus.

Minpunten

As an "Account Executive," it's important to clarify that your initial responsibilities will not align with traditional AE duties for the first several quarters. Instead, your role will primarily entail lead scrubbing, excluding any involvement in prospecting activities. Additionally, while there are Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) designated within the structure, you won't collaborate with them to explore new client opportunities. These SDRs are outsourced from the Philippines and have yet to secure any successful deals. Your performance metrics will be predominantly centered around dialing and talk time, with minimal emphasis on other key performance indicators. Existing AEs within the organization will handle product demonstrations for any leads you manage to secure. However, it's crucial to note that the entire process, from cold calling to demo sessions, adheres strictly to scripted protocols without room for adaptation or innovation. The workflow and cultural atmosphere evoke a sense of antiquity reminiscent of the early 2000s. Notably, there's a glaring absence of diversity and inclusion initiatives, with minimal representation of minorities within the sales team and a lack of HR oversight to address discriminatory behavior. Leadership remains distant and disconnected, primarily communicating through impersonal channels such as LinkedIn and Slack, neglecting to formally introduce themselves to new hires despite the relatively small team size. Despite this, there's an expectation for team members to extend social niceties such as birthday wishes and vacation celebrations. Furthermore, the absence of a structured paid time off (PTO) policy, coupled with a limited number of holidays, contributes to an imbalance between work and personal life commitments.

Fully remote. Culture is wonderful. Fair/competitive pay. Obviously continuous growth.

Minpunten

Too many hands in one spot, yet not enough hands in others. Communication between depts can be a spotty at times.

Pluspunten

I do not have a single positive to say about this company.

Minpunten

If I had to pick one thing that sums up Practice by Numbers, it would be how I have heard the owner make casual disparaging comments about employees on group calls. I’ve never seen leadership that will so flippantly talk about people so poorly. From my observations and personal experience, don’t count on being shown any kind of appreciation for the hard work and extra hours you put in to your job. There is no company culture to speak of and no structured HR (one of the owners pretends to be the HR department). Speaking of the owners, the company is owned by a husband and wife, and a school time friend. If you can imagine how the company is run from that kind of ownership, you would be right. They are trying to punch above their weight class. The product is decent. But by comparison, the competition are real businesses, with real offices, led and staffed by real professionals. Practice by Numbers has their official business address as one of the dental office locations owned by the dentist founder. They are one step above a business running out of someone’s garage address. Don’t get me wrong, there is some structure. Just not the kind you think . If you are part of their ‘India’ club, then all is good. If not, well it might just feel like you are on the outside looking in the window. The bottom line is if you enjoy a work setting that induces anxiety, burnout, emotional distress, high-pressure and low-support, then Practice by Numbers is for you.
