At PDR, Debt Counselors are faced with the Herculean task of fronting, closing, and customer service all in one role. And for all the negotiating, persuasion, paper-work, follow-up, and potential for emotional woes, the pay structure is very, very bad. All my work experience gathered, I feel like this, if any job, was one that the typical employee deserved a decent base pay. Unfortunately, admin provides Zero-to-minimal training. And with the lack of set procedures, confusion ensues. Some of this confusion can be dealt with by making a lot of intelligent and safe assumptions, but others are more difficult, if not impossible, to appease Unfortunately, Company veterans provide only a hodge-podge of contrasting opinions, leaving new hires, with no resolution. My second month there, I was surprised to find myself asking questions, and implementing procedures, that veterans had either neither thought of or taken advantage of.
