The sense of community has a warped undertone to it. There is a disconnect between frontline staff and senior management. Management never wants to put themselves into the staff member's shoes. Enables residents to be stagnant until they're ready for them to leave, then they'll find ways to get rid of the. The more aggressive the resident towards staff, the more coddling and pacification the resident receives. POC staff often experience racism and profiling by passive-aggressive white women with savior complexes. They serve black people but work with them using white-washed ideologies and practices. Certain staff members have an unconcious bias towards the people they serves and it's often ignored or brushed off. I don't understand how you work toward being a more DEI organization when Mirco-aggression and micromanagement are unconsciously encouraged. Staff is overworked and residents are unencouraged to seek help.
