- I looked at this thread and have seen lots of negative comments from unhappy (and rightly so) people that had to be let go because of the Covid-19 pandemic. - I truely sympathise with these comments because losing your job in the middle of a crisis is heartbreaking especially when its going to be hard to find something new and you have a family to support. - Property Finder handled this very well. The company communicated every step throughly (sometimes over-communicated by letting every employee know the financial troubles the company had hit due to Covid and how this would impact the business and their people) - When many many companies were firing people, Property Finder kept ALL of their employees hired for as long as they could. The CEO took a 100% paycut and the Senior Leadership Team took a 50% pay cut to ensure this. Most other employers took a 20% paycut, it was a team effort. Without this the layoffs would have happened at least 2 months earlier. When times got tougher and clients could not pay/revenues dropped (PF make their money through B2B services) Property Finder took the decision to but certain people on unpaid leave (but still paying people 3500AED per month while not working and keeping their visa active, medical insurance covered) which is so so generous, considering many other companies (including lots of my friends) had been fired with no medical insurance and no visa while stuck in a foreign country with no income. Bravo to Property Finder. - During the crisis the company have introduced a stock options scheme to reward people that are achieving and helping them to overcome (and more) this crisis. (I was told this indirectly from a friend still working there)
Minpunten
- The one thing they could have handled better is the "end of service" benefits and how they communicated this to employees that had been told to leave. Former employees were given 3 options to pick from, all of which seemed unfair. But, given the fact that PF HAD to let go 60 people to balance the finances, I think the people that have been leaving bad reviews need to take a step back and reconsider their comments. - (and this is more of a pro than a con) but Property Finder listened to the people that had left, about the "unfair" end of service benefits and in the end gave everyone what was deserved. Maybe this should have been done from the start, but circumstances dicate in these times.
