Ross Video has many talented people and a good product portfolio. The company has good reputation and some teams and people are very supportive and innovative.

Minpunten

Unfortunately, certain areas of the company have developed deeply unhealthy dynamics. Micro-management, politics, and a lack of trust have become the norm, making it difficult for people to do their best work. Favoritism and personal bias often carry more weight in decisions than performance, merit, or expertise, which creates an uneven and demotivating environment. Constructive feedback is frequently dismissed, and anyone who raises legitimate concerns risks being slowly sidelined or excluded from key discussions and decision-making processes. This discourages transparency and prevents issues from being resolved effectively. There is also a growing gap between words and actions where ambitious presentations, rarely translate into meaningful outcomes. Instead of providing clarity, this disconnect often leads to confusion and misaligned expectations. Incompetence is tolerated, and at times even rewarded, while a small group of highly capable individuals end up carrying most of the team’s responsibilities. This imbalance leads to burnout, frustration, and a culture where true talent is rarely (or never) recognized, appreciated, or supported. There are also no meaningful growth or development plans in place, leaving high performers to continue absorbing the workload without any real career progression or advancement opportunities. There are additional areas of concern, the company overall has many strengths, but in some areas the culture has shifted noticeably. What was once a collaborative and supportive environment has become more challenging to navigate, with less transparency, alignment, and recognition.

You made me laugh with one of the Cons being "Hard to leave once you've worked here" - nice Easter Egg in the review! :-) On the stock side, I would like to highlight that we're an ESOP company (Employee Stock Ownership Program) and every year employees can buy and sell Ross stock. The stock price is tied to financial performance and since we started the ESOP in 2009 the stock price is up 10x. I know the request is for stock grants - my position has been to pay people well and let them invest in Ross stock if they want, or anything else otherwise. Note that we are still a private company so stock is less liquid than in a public company so we need to be careful to ensure owning Ross stock is a good experience, but often a longer term experience. Great environment, room for growth, acceptance, amazing managerial support, benefits, a work/life balance, and so much respect among all colleagues and even the CEO. Yes, David Ross IS as nice as he seems all the time and makes himself available and genuinely wants to answer any concerns we have. He constantly wants to know if we are happy and he is very transparent about any business information. Overall, always a good vibe and everyone is always willing to work together no matter the department,
