Minpunten
I was hired as Senior Asset Artist to work with outsourcing. When I started they told me there were no tasks for senior asset artist - I started working as 3d env. artist instead. For 2 months there I had (I counted) ~6 conversations with my lead. + some slack messages; + 10 min. standup meeting once a week. Communication was sparse. For 2 months I had no proper tasks assigned in the system by producers; Slack group/communication with concept/art dir and designers for this part of a game was established 2 months after I started. Before that I worked "blind". All communication was going around me - level artist who prepared blockout was sitting 2m away and communicated with me by writing to my lead. Who was working offsite. Overall atmosphere in the office was really weird. My contract was cancelled after 2.5 months. My lead didn't like my work. One of his main reasons was... lack of communication with me. This guy as I mentioned talked to me max 6 times during 2 months. While I worked on central, important game location. Possibly remote working is an option there. I would not recommend onsite work.
