Fairly relaxed working environment, can loosely set your own schedule and make up time if you need time off. Can listen to music on headphones all day.

Minpunten

Majority of management has zero management experience, promotions are not skill or merit based. Employee handbook is full of false information. Zero opportunity for growth in most roles, and the skills you use are not very transferable. Morale constantly at a low and no support from management. Staff are ignored, only to later have expensive consultants hired that offer the same suggestions staff gave previously. Certain bloated salaries make it difficult to earn an industry standard salary. Be prepared to earn a lot less than you would at any other company. Be prepared to overhear sketchy and illegal business practices.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. Our comments in response to your post: - Several of the company's leadership has been promoted from within and we're happy with the performance of our team and growth of those individuals who didn't have a lot of experience when put in a position of higher responsibility. They were promoted because they were proactive, intelligent individuals who showed the potential to succeed in a more difficult role. There are key executive personnel with plenty of management experience that work with our managers to make progress as a company. We are constantly evaluating our capabilities and bringing in new skills that we need and can afford with state of the business. - In Calgary, the oil and gas sector distorts perceptions of pay so compared to those types of companies in boom time we don't pay as well. But in general, we offer competitive pay and opportunities to own stock through options for high performers.I'm sure the 100,000+ employees and contractors out of work in Alberta in the oil and gas industry think we pay quite well. - We apologize if there was any inaccurate information in our employee manuals. We have reviewed the manual to ensure its accuracy and at this time we are unaware of any actual or perceived inaccuracies. - There are definitely some roles that are more production oriented which may be perceived as having limited growth opportunities. We have never stopped anyone from taking initiative to grow in their roles or delivering performance that merits a raise or increased responsibilities. - Feedback is welcome at all times and we apologize if there were any perceptions that management didn't listen to your feedback. - We hire consultants as a management team to fill blindspots or offer external perspective to what we're doing. Sometimes they confirm what we already thought/knew and in other cases we have obtained significant value from consultants who've helped us build our capacity in different areas of the business and identify new growth opportunities. - Employee morale fluctuates and we did have a dip in 2015 which we discussed at a management meeting and we now discuss it regularly. We have take steps to improve office perks, having team building initiatives, setting team based goals where everyone in the company will be rewarded if we achieve targets and improving communications internally (we have all staff meetings regularly where the CEO to delivers a company update and answers questions staff have about the company). As stated we do appreciate your feedback although we take exception to you making claims that we are conducting illegal business practices. We pride ourselves on integrity and as a company have to monitor our conduct diligently. Our company has well-reputed individuals working in the company and on our Board of Directors. If someone was conducting illegal practices, they haven't surfaced nor are we aware of them. If someone was operating unethically or illegally, they would be immediately terminated.

Flexibility and the ability to work remotely

Minpunten

Underpaid, barely minimum wage, projects are paid based solely on size not complexity/difficulty. A small project could take an hour, but pay is only $15.

Flexible work schedule, interesting projects

Minpunten

You will not even make minimum wage. Most projects pay between $15-45 and take at least 2 hours for small projects up to 4 hours for large ones (usually longer if QA needs adjusting). I made more money per day filling out surveys. I suspect AI will take over this job relatively soon anyways.
