Micro-managing by ownership. Was not really looking for a manager.

Pluspunten

The challenge of finding and vetting news stories for broadcast was fun, helping people understand what's happening locally was an important job and I enjoyed doing it. Interacting with the on-air hosts was also enjoyable, and the benefits were pretty good (they even offered Aflac insurance).

Minpunten

Working 3 a.m. to Noon was a brutal schedule that made having a life outside work very difficult if not impossible. I think that warrants a higher salary.

Pluspunten

The people who work there are very friendly and there is no drama or back biting.

Minpunten

You'll be expected to make your job your number one priority over any other life obligations you have. If there's a big storm, you'll be expected to work around the clock and not be paid anything extra. You'll be asked to occasionally volunteer your time to promote the station. And you'll be rewarded with a salary that MAY be as high as $12 an hour, unless you're a talk-show host or a very good salesperson. The salespeople and talk-show hosts are the only people who get recognized for their contributions. If you don't fall into one of those categories, you don't exist and your work is pointless.
