Beautiful office (however see below).

Minpunten

This organization is in a mess! When I joined in at the beginning of the year the company had just moved into a beautiful new office, there was enthusiasm in developing the product, the company, and employees. the tech team was the biggest department at the organization at between 15 to 20 engineers and management. The company had operations in Singapore, Pakistan, India, Philippines and the US. The management often alluded to the huge deals we had just around the corner and the senior management team had just completed an off-site workshop in Bali to define the strategy for building the company. The first weekly meeting the Senior management stood in front of the entire team saying how the only way for the company to be successful was to respect and invest in the employees ("the best asset RingMD has") and to focus on one product and do it right - good plan and a good direction we believed. In reality, this was all a front for the lack of vision, lack of strategy, lack of experience, lack of transparency and the mad panic/slash and burn that occurs after management meets investors. Office - It is beautiful, it has table tennis, foosball, massage chairs and bean bags but sadly the organization cannot afford this and 4 months after moving in the remaining team (see below) are told that the office is out of the reach of the company and they will need to downsize. Treatment of staff - in April 2017 after a week of senior management hiding in the secret room (yes they have a secret room and you know when they spend days in there that employees are going to be impacted) the entire tech team was told that their jobs were to be moved to Ho Chi Minh City for a lesser wage or there was no place for them, immediately 50% of the tech team was cut amongst other positions, at the same time the operations in the US were effectively shut down and the entire team let go. 3 months later those in Ho Chi Minh except 2 were told their services were no longer needed and all but 2 of the tech team left the company. As of now (mid-September) there are only about 10 employees (50% are Senior management). Markets - RingMD has closed operations in all markets except Singapore. India was recently closed down and all people either lost their jobs or are on renegotiated (for the worse) contracts. Business skills - very few of the senior management have any experience in the role they have and the one that does have any experience has no experience in the healthcare technology arena and works with small sample sizes (sometimes just one) but appears to have an overwhelming influence and is never held accountable for his failings or lack of successful strategy (it just shows the naivety of the other senior managers that they accept his failings). The business either ignores and does not understand how to manage patient data sensitively and breach quality standards and policy in how they treat sensitive data. The senior management lies to the employees about deals that "are just around the corner", providing equity to the staff to saying that peoples positions are safe and they should not worry only to terminate them the following week. They cannot see a market for the solutions they offer and in my opinion, have missed golden opportunities and are now at the point where competitors are far and beyond RingMD. Senior management says all the right things about the progress of the company and the deals and relationships they have been working on, however, these always fail to actually appear and the communication borders on being dishonest. They are rarely in the office and do no actual visible management of the organization. They are a flash spenders and enjoys the high life in spending the equivalent of a developer's monthly wages on nights out (the night before culling the tech team). They rule by fear often barking orders and threats. They show very little respect for the efforts, skills, and experience of the employees. They hide in the hidden room for the majority of time in the office creating additional fear within the office that another cull is coming. They make it out they are doing you a favor in keeping you employed. There is really only one member of the senior management team with any experience in managing a business. They works with really small sample sizes to make key decisions and have no real understanding of the market nor the customers and a lot of the strategy are based on guesses. They lie to direct reports offering job security and stating equity deals are coming only to terminate said employees a week later. In short, there is no accountability for the failings of the senior management and employees pay the ultimate price.

Pluspunten

I have been working for RingMD for less than a yea, but am still as committed and excited about the company and my job as I was on day one. Everyday brings new challenges, and you are able to approach these challenges with autonomy and creativity. You are able to work with and lean on some extremely brilliant people. You will not find a more smart, dedicated, motivated, and supportive cast of employees anywhere.

Minpunten

It's easy to forget that RingMD is basically a start-up, and a lot can get thrown at you at one time. You definately have to learn to roll with the punches.

Pluspunten

Pay has been better for the overtime work we do, but we also do need some rest and that doesn't compensate it.

Minpunten

With what's happening nowadays, and the current situation in the country, we get a lot more calls from patients. The number of our patients have tripled, and it's more than we can handle. There are only a few of us staff in here and we've been handling all these people since this crisis started. A lot of us has already been experiencing burnout from the overtime we do and weeks without a day off but the company still doesn't want to hire new staff.
