In all fairness, I'm writing this review in response to an earlier review I disagree with. I'll attempt to stay professional and concise. Safe systems is like many things in life, you get out what you put in. If you work hard and learn our products and the technologies we work with you will do well.That includes taking the time to study for certs and not just dumping them for a piece of paper. The company pays for certs and offers nice bonuses for passing milestones. They literally pay you money to improve yourself and your career. The culture is pretty relaxed. There is a good mix of people from different walks of life. Some are more traditional IT guys, and some are not. PTO is plentiful, and I usually accrue a few extra comp days a month. Usually there isn't any pressure to come in early or stay late. I say usually, because after you have worked here for a while, you begin to build a rapport with many our clients and feel motivated and responsible to solve their issues. The pressure doesn't come from management. To a certain extent, after you've been there for a while you can work as much or as little as you want. You're never going to get promoted doing the bare minimum though. The pay is pretty good as well. Entry level salary is extremely competitive. While mid level salaries may lag a tad, the benefits package is very impressive compared to other places I have worked. Safe also periodically does "stress reliefs" to help the engineering team interact with the sales and management teams. At Safe you touch many different vendors and technologies which can really help round you out as an engineer, especially early in your career. We do virtualization, networking, security, compliance, infrastructure, and server/desktop support. Even if you career isn't at Safe, the experience you get can make you very desirable to future employers. If you are proactive (key word) there are opportunities to get involved with projects outside your department. And many people move from the engineering team to sales, management, R&D etc...

There can be limited upward opportunities in your department depending on where you are. Some people change departments out of necessity. Mid level salaries have risen in the past few years, but they still are lagging a tad behind the average. Year end bonuses can leave a bit to be desired. Some of my friends work for competing IT firms, and I choose to avoid the subject around December. People in corporate always get first dibs on any food that comes in.
