It's disturbing to see a company operate this way in today's world. No diversity. No one there is anything but WHITE. ZERO females in Principal positions. Women are under-valued, under-promoted, and under-paid compared to their male counterparts. They've had only one female principal in 60+ years, and she's retired. Definitely an "old boys" club and that's not changing anytime soon. There is major bias and nepotism. It's a stressful and negative environment, and it comes from the top. Policies are shaped around a 60+ year-old white male mentality. No or very limited work from home, no flexibility, and no trust in the employees. No paid maternity/paternity leave and benefits are bare minimum at best. If you have a family or a life outside of work, it better not come before tax season. Just a very cheaply-run company. For what they charged their clients for basic accounting services, their level of cheapness is astounding. Where is the money going? Because they sure don't put money into updating offices or handing out bonuses for hard work and long hours during tax season. Interns and even senior employees in some offices sit at desks that are falling apart and older than their parents. Typewriters are still in daily use. Broken and mismatched chairs fill conference rooms. But they must be spending big money on printers, because they print everything. Paper files are 5-foot tall and unnecessary. The big struggle during the pandemic was "how can employees work from home without our file room?!" It's 2021, people. Get a clue and go digital before you die! They have access to the technology but refuse to use it. No real HR department or HR authority, so lots of things go on that shouldn't. It's only a matter of time before things come to light that are disturbing and corrupt. Good luck to the up-and-coming leaders that inherit that mess.
