I have the feeling that the owner has his own set of "rules" not in line what is acceptable by many: - Payment dates of wages: You get paid anywhere between the 15th and the 28th of the NEXT month instead of at the end of the month like majority of OTHER companies normally do. So if you have something like rent, mortgage or other fixed date occurring expenses, good luck trying to balance your sheets. It may also occur that you won't get your payslips consistently unless you explicitly nag the Owner for it. He seems to really dislike administrative tasks. - Travel expenses: You don't get any travel expenses reimbursements for gasoline or parking by default, only an NS card, but you may not immediately receive the NS card when you start working. In that case you will have to front those costs yourself for the first couple of weeks until you get it. They claim you will get your money back for such expenses made if you fill in some form, but I have gone back and forth between HR and the owner for over well 2 months now without ever seeing or hearing anything back. - Agreed upon remote dates: The contract does not state which days you need to come to the office, but they tell you its on Tuesday and Thursday, however this could change to 3 to 4 days to the office if the Owner decides to change it. Currently some other colleagues were also protesting to keep these on premises days, but I personally dont expect that it will be only 2 days in the office in the future. - Contract extensions: During the interviews you are told you will receive a 4-month contract, followed up by a 12-month contract, followed up by an indefinite contract which is understandable for such a start-up. However, your contract may very likely never get extended past the first 4 months. In that case by Dutch law, your contract gets extended automatically by the same period after it expires for a maximum of 3 times afterwards becoming an indefinite contract automatically by law. There are employees there working for 2+ years who have never had an extension of their contract and are currently on such an automatic indefinite contract. They still get paid, but they may have allot of difficulties in the future to get a mortgage from the bank or rent anything as they don't have anything written on PAPER. Overall I find the owner to be a compulsive liar, pshyopatic and manipulator using different social techniques to guilt-trip employees in his way of thinking or to mask his incompetencies. I think that he believes himself to be a highly intellectual person, but then somehow is too dumbfounded to figure out how to modify an Excel Sheet Template to send the payslips consistently. During my time i felt that the owner would gladly spend the equivalent of 2 working days talking about his vision and history, or spend weeks to find plants for the office, but couldn't be bothered to arrange basic administrative needs for their employees. This felt really disrespectful to me and towards others. I also noticed and experience from a personal point of view that the company direction was not very stable, changing priorities and vision on a month-to-month basis or after the Owner had some drinks. In the past there also was an lawsuit in Hungary about equal payment and many employees have left the company briefly after that period. I am not sure if this lawsuit was in any way responsible, but I have a feeling it was linked somehow Try looking up the statistics on LinkedIn and contact some of the ex-employees to decide for yourself if you deem (to my personal opinion) the financial insecurities, bleak future prospects and headache inducing company culture worth it to start in the HPC industry. Writing this I am definitely expecting a deformation suit to happen, but they really need to sort out major problems in their company before hiring more people. I have tried to write this from a personal opinion point of view, so prepare others for what they can expect when they decide to work here. The owner once mentioned that his goals is to be at 100+ employee, with the owner wanting to hire multiple employees in a short timeframe. My personal response to that would be: How about you first try to manage the existing 15 (18 in the past) and making sure they don't feel cheated, unheard or dis-respected?

That’s now been revised so everything is ready before new employees join. -Office Days: Our policy is for employees to work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. While changes to this policy may be considered in the future, these decisions are made collectively by the team—not by any one person. Everyone, including the founder, has an equal opportunity to share their perspective. -Contract Extensions: We’ve streamlined this process, and all employees now have updated contracts that align with company standards. With over a decade of experience and strong customer relationships, we’re proud to be a financially and strategically stable company; we have a clear direction. Open communication and fairness are values we deeply care about, and we believe it’s important to consider all perspectives when addressing challenges. While we always strive to address any concerns proactively, we regret that communication broke down in this instance. Transparency and mutual respect are key to resolving issues. We encourage current and future employees to share their thoughts openly so we can work together toward solutions. We’ve made significant improvements to resolve past challenges, but we know there’s always room to grow. Our focus remains on fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and supported as we continue to evolve as a team.

Pluspunten

- The people that I worked with are phenomenal, genuinely the smartest and kindest people, and true friendships have been forged while I worked there. - Working hours were flexible and could accommodate people from different regions or students that would work after classes etc. - During some moments there were exciting challenges to tackle. Compared to some big corporations where most of my days was spent on trivial bugfixes with zero creativity required, this was very fulfilling. - Tools used for development, team communication, version control, CI & CD were standard not home-grown solutions like it might be with big companies. These were also mostly well maintained and professionally done (by the developers, see negatives).

Minpunten

- The work performed at the company is 100% outsourced work from larger companies. This leaves little room for career growth and some of these projects did not align with the skills of the employees. - At the time of my employment there was almost no organizational structure. Most employees were developers with a project lead sometimes provided by the clients or a person on the team might get selected for such a role (without experience in what that takes). - Career growth does not exist within the company, you might be surrounded by amazing people, but there really weren't many opportunities to share this knowledge. - Mentoring, coaching or performance feedback did not exists. I think this was worst for medior engineers since they were mostly expected to perform as well as senior staff without a clear plan on how to get there. - The company ran on its own self-hosted infrastructure, and if you wanted it to work, *you* needed to maintain it. There were no dedicated people to manage this infrastructure, it was done by the GPU engineers; who are not professionals in it. - Related to infrastructure: securing funding to improve / extend it to better support the growing team could not be arranged in ~2 years. - The company offers very low transparency regarding benefits like year end bonuses. In many companies yearly bonuses follow pre-set and agreed upon rules based on company profits or stock value. At Stream HPC the amount was magically pulled out of a hat. Bonuses were also delayed to the point it was unclear whether they would even happen at all. - Salaries were delayed several times, and paid the very last legal date other times.

De collega's waren vriendelijk en technisch vaardig (maar dat is nu niet meer relevant, want ze waren allemaal binnen twee jaar vertrokken).

Minpunten

Ik moet zeggen dat de analyse van de auteur van de andere 1-sterren review op Glassdoor helemaal klopt. Ik ben vertrokken met dezelfde analyse als de auteur van de andere 1-sterren review. De eigenaar/CEO is een narcistische gaslighter die hilarisch incompetent is. Als je de baan aanneemt, weet dan dat hij er veel plezier in schept om mensen te kleineren en mensen te vertellen hoe ze zichzelf moeten verbeteren. Het onderwerp van je verbetering kan elk abstract aspect van je persoonlijke leven zijn, je persoonlijkheid of hoe je met dingen omgaat (zelfs psychologische/medische zaken). Uiteraard wordt het allemaal opzettelijk verpakt als 'oprecht' advies en 'openheid'. Het is ongelooflijk hilarisch als je een paar stappen terug kunt doen. Omdat de CEO grote problemen heeft met basistaken en SERIEUZE conflicten heeft met elke persoon en organisatie waarmee mensen te maken hebben. Dit omvat: klanten, banken, leveranciers, autoriteiten, werknemers etc. Je kunt er zeker van zijn dat je JOUW reputatie bij die organisaties op het spel zet vanwege (in)acties van deze werkgever. Je zult verhalen horen over hoe hij het slachtoffer is van groot ongeluk, maar na verloop van tijd zal de ware oorzaak voor je duidelijk worden. Collega's op het kantoor in Hongarije werden bijna een heel jaar lang niet betaald. Ze werkten zonder salaris, alleen maandelijkse beloften. Uiteindelijk werd dat geregeld, maar het zorgde nog steeds voor grote problemen. Het kleinste beetje wederkerigheid of eerlijke empathie over de (in)directe schade die anderen wordt toegebracht, is volkomen onbestaand. Als het niet was voor die gemotiveerde, net-af-van-de-universiteit-werknemers, was dit bedrijf al jaren geleden ten onder gegaan. Als je besluit de baan te accepteren, stel dan vanaf dag één duidelijk je grenzen. Neem niets -positief of negatief- dat uit de mond van deze man komt serieus. Laat een dwaas je niet vertellen hoe je dingen zou moeten doen. Om af te sluiten met iets positiefs: zijn sterke punten zijn inderdaad verkoop en marketing, maar dat is het dan ook.
