Pluspunten
Some coworkers were incredibly kind, helpful, and collaborative. When a deadline needed to be met, many people would join together to find a solution to save everyone's jobs that were on the line.
Minpunten
Too many to list, but here's a few big ones:
Tyrannical owner and CEO - threatened to fire people all the time, yelled and screamed at people every week, took commissions and bonuses away from employees without telling them or cause.
Lack of vision and direction for the company - Most goals are made to make sure that the owner makes enough money at the end of the year to maintain his lifestyle. This means there's no extra money to invest into the company to help teams grow, or use better technology, or give bonuses to staff. The money made is for a single purpose of going into the owner's pocket at the end of the year.
Former HR Manager - She's no longer there, but their old HR rep (who was married to the owner) was tyrannical as well. Everyone walked on egg shells around her. I'm glad she's no longer there, but while she was there, it ruined the company significantly.
Compensation was far below industry average - I was a younger employee and promoted to a sales position. The salary I received was below the industry average by half. I took the position still, thinking I could prove myself and get a raise afterwards. Even with small raises for several years (which I fought tooth and nail for), I never got up to the industry average in salary. I broke every sales record at the company and brought new clients there that they'd never worked with, but the owner never wanted to pay me my worth.
